Restaurants across Indonesia waste millions of tonnes of edible food every year, unsold meals at closing time that end up in landfills, generating methane that's 28× more potent than CO₂. Meanwhile students and families around campus struggle to afford a decent meal.
BackBite bridges both problems. We partner with local restaurants to rescue surplus food and resell it at cheaper prices. Every meal saved keeps waste out of landfills and money in your pocket.

"Good Food Deserves a Second Bite."
It started with a problem everyone around President University knows too well: you want a decent meal, but your wallet has other plans.
At the same time, restaurants across Citywalk Jababeka were throwing out perfectly good food every night at closing, not because it went bad, just because it didn't sell that day.
So we built a bridge between the two. BackBite collects "Surprise Bags" from local spots, real meals, still fresh, still delicious, and sells them at prices that actually make sense.
The Problem We're Solving
Indonesia generates ~23-48 million tonnes of food waste per year (Bappenas/FAO). Globally, food waste is responsible for 8-10% of greenhouse gas emissions - more than the entire aviation industry. Most of this waste happens at restaurants and households, not because food is inedible, but because it simply doesn't sell by closing time.
Our mission: redirect perfectly good surplus food from landfills to your plate. Cheaper for you, better for local businesses, cleaner for the planet.
